A Toast to 2017: Our Goal for the New Year

It's New Year's Eve, and as 2016 draws to a close I cannot help but look back on all that has happened the past year. Man, has it been one for the books!

It was a year of fresh starts and new opportunities. From graduating architecture school at the University of San Diego (Go Toreros!) to landing my dream job in Seattle and adopting Ruby, I cannot help but be proud of the chances I took and all that I have achieved this year.

In 2017, I want to keep the ball rolling. So this year instead of making resolutions, I am setting just one goal for what I want to accomplish in the next 365 days.

That goal is to GET OUT THERE!

I want to spend 2017 engaged, involved and adventuring. I am finally in a place in my life where I can establish myself and live outwardly, meeting people and experiencing all that I can. In the new year, I could not be more excited for the opportunity to do just that.

Luckily for me, I have the best, most charismatic partner in crime ever to help me accomplish this goal. Perhaps the best thing 2016 brought me was Ruby, the rescue dog that changed my life for the better. Her ability to bring a smile to the faces of everyone she meets was what inspired me to start Ruby On Alki in the first place, and I hope we can continue to grow that legacy in the next year.

So friends, let's raise a glass to the new year. Here's to another 12 months of promise, 52 weeks of opportunity, and 365 days of experience. May you proceed with the purpose, poise, and power to achieve all your goals and may you end the year happier than you started it.

Cheers, to one more crazy trip around the sun!
This year, we hope you join us and make it your goal to get out there and live.

    1. Thanks Anna! It is SO HARD to met people in a new city (especially since I work in a construction office where I'm the youngest by 10+ years)! This year I want to really work on that, and having more fun in my awesome new city!
